Vrshketu - uncelebrated warrior
Karna was the eldest son of queen Kunti. In Kunti's childhood, Sage Dhurvas taught a spell to Kunti which would give a son on telling it. He advised Kunti not to put the spell into test. Being a small and curious girl, Kunti prayed to Sun god and recited the spell.
As soon as she recited the spell, Sun god appeared before her and blessed her with a son. Too scared, little Kunti laid the child inside a box and floated the box in river Ganga.
A charioteer couple who were longing for a child found the box withthe child. They named him as Karna. Karna married a charioteer's daughter Padmavathi and they had a son named Vrshketu. Karna fought for Duryodhan and was killed by Arjun in Gurukshetra war.
All the sons of Pandavas and Kauravas were killed and Vrshketu was the only one left alive after the war. After Arjun came to know that Karna was his elder brother, he was disappointed.
He took full in charge of his nephew Vrshketu and looked after him as his own son. He taught him the art of archery and made him well verse in archery.
Vrshketu was an excellent Archer. Since Abhimanyu's son Parikshit came to rule after Yudhishthir, Vrshketu's name automatically got hidden in the history of Mahabharata.
