Birth of Brahma

     


When Sreeman Narayanan awakens from his deep slumber, a lotus blooms from his navel. Above the lotus sits Brahma.

       Brahma is the child who slips out of the mother's womb. As soon as he slips, he starts sensing the stimuli from the outside world. It is an experience that differs from the one he obtained in his mother's womb. This is his first contact with nature.

      Brahma realises that he is different from the nature. He is distinct from it.  He realises this with the help of purusha or human form within him but he is unaware of purusha.

    As soon as his self awareness increases, he starts depersonalizing nature. Thus the birth of Brahma represents the birth of human consciousness.

             Lord Krishna always had a soft corner for Karna. Duryodhana would often call himself as a generous one. Lord Krishna decided to test who is more generous, Duryodhana or Karna.              It was a rainy season. Lord Krishna disguised himself as an old man. At first, he went to Duryodhan's palace.                Karna was the eldest son Kunti. His father was Sun god. He was abandoned by his mother soon after his birth. He was found by a charioteer and was raised by that charioteer and his wife.                Karna was a well known warrior who was also known for generosity. After becoming the king of Angad, he loved a princess named Asawari. She too fell in love with him.               Initially she thought that Karna was a prince. Later on, she learnt that he was the son of a charioteer.             Sage Kashyap had two wives named Vinata and Kathru. The eldest one was Vinata and the youngest one was Kathru. They both became pregnant with the grace of sage Kashyap.            Vinata bore two ova (eggs in uterus) and Kathru bore one hundred and five ova. The time came and the younger one Kathru gave birth to serpents.       AdiSesha, Vasuki and one hundred and two more male serpents were born to Kathru. Out of one hundred and five serpents, only one was female and her name was Jarathkaru.         Vinata became furious and she broke one of the ova by striking her stomach and the egg broke.
