Marriage of Ghatotkach and Mauravi.

Pandu's second son Bhim Sen married demoness Hidimbi in the forest. Hidimbi gave birth to Gatotkach. Before marriage, Hidimbi took a vow that she would not enter the royal family and she would reside in the forest for ever. She grew her son Gatotkach alone.

Mauravi was the daughter of Mura, a demon. Mura was the chief commander of Narakasura's army. He was killed by lord Krishna in the battle that took place between Narakasura and lord Krishna in Pragjyotishpur (Narakasura's capital). Hence Krishna was also called as Murahari.

Mauravi was very strong both physically and mentally. Also, she was an egoistic lady. Those who came to marry her were not able to defeat her in both brawn and brain. They were killed by her.

After the battle between Narakasura and Krishna was over, Maya appeared before Mauravi and told Mauravi to surrender herself to lord Krishna. Mauravi did so and lord Krishna accepted her as his daughter and promised her to find a broom for her.

Lord Krishna brought Gatotkach to Pragjyotishpur and taught him the tricks to defeat Mauravi in both brawn and brain. Mauravi's ego was shattered by Gatotkach and finally she was married to Ghatotkach.
